Funding Requests

A Funding Request form should be used to formally seek and secure funding from the eHealth budget for a IT enabling support initiative where the proposed approach is absolutely clear and when the need does not constitute:

  • a Business Case (these are used when proposing new projects, replacement systems and other requirements needing substantive expenditure, especially where an options appraisal is possible – for further information click here)
  • a Commission (these are used when the sponsoring organisation seeks a formal written agreement for the performance of specific pieces of work with the organisation that will lead the work  - for further information click here).
  • a Development Proposal (these are used when making a change to an existing national IT system that falls under the active management of the eHealth Portfolio Management Group arrangements – for further information click here)

Generally Funding Requests seek low levels of funding. Nonetheless it is recommended that a discussion takes place with a member of the Programme Executive Team before a Funding Request is initiated to check whether the request is worthy of drafting and submitting, thus preventing any nugatory effort.

The completed form should be submitted to the PMO email address.  The PMO will then pass the Funding Request to the eHealth Programme Executive Team for review and, if supported, approval.
